If you have internet, follow the directions of your navigation to “Wadi Rum Village”. In case you don’t have a navigation, you can best download an offline map in Google Maps or via Maps.me.

You can get here by exiting the Desert Highway and follow Wadi Rum Street. This long street, and the signs on the side of the road will lead you to a police station (on your right). Stop at the stop sign and show the police your passport.

Then continue the same road straight ahead, and you will reach the Wadi Rum Visitors Center (on your left). You can park your car and walk inside the office to pay the 5 JOD entrance fee to enter the protected area. If you have the Jordan Pass, you don’t need to pay, just show your pass.

Then drive straight ahead on the same road, this will lead you to Wadi Rum Village. On your right you will find a parking lot where you can park your car for 5 JOD (cash). Next to the parking lot is the Rest House, where we will meet you. It is not advised to drive in the desert yourself, so we will pick you up at the Rest House with our jeep.

The taxi is an easy way to reach Wadi Rum. You can find the yellow taxis on the side of the roads in the bigger cities like Aqaba or Amman. It is common for taxis to use a meter, but standard prices are also used in many areas. Before you leave, discuss with your driver what your destination is and what it will cost you. The prices in the table below indicate the average prices. The driver can drop you off right at our meeting point: The Rest House in Wadi Rum Village. Make sure your driver takes you all the way here and doesn’t drop you off at the Visitor’s Center. You can give our phone number to the driver so that he can inform us about your arrival time and where to meet us.

We recommend using our trusted taxi driver Hamdan for the best price. Just let us know you need a taxi to Wadi Rum and we will arrange it for you.

Wadi Rum only has a direct bus connection to Petra (Wadi Musa), Aqaba and Amman. If you travel from another place, you must first travel to Petra, Aqaba, or Amman to change busses, before you can get to Wadi Rum. For more information on bus schedules, you can visit the JETT website. You can also buy your ticket online in advance. It is best to physically visit the bus station or ask your hotel for the correct information, since the website doesn’t always show the right times.

If you travel with a local minibus, keep in mind that these busses don’t always depart on time, they usually wait until the bus is full, and local people are given priority.  The local bus doesn’t run on Fridays and national/Islamic holidays.

Also keep in mind that not all buses that drive to Wadi Rum, will bring you all the way to our meeting point. Some busses stop at the Visitors Center or on the highway.
