A magical night under the stars

wadi rum cave camping

When was the last time you felt truly present and in the moment? Disconnected from the busy world around you, no internet, and no rush. Most people cannot remember the last time. The overnight in the Cave is the true traditional experience, where you really go back to basics, bivouac camping in a remote area with hardly any tourists. You can feel what the desert life was really like, living the simple life, just like our ancestors used to do.

The Bedouins are called desert wanderers, who go with the natural flow of nature and life. And that is exactly what we offer you at the cave! A place to feel at peace, relaxed, disconnected from the chaos, and connected with the nature and people around you.

The cave experience

Your Wadi Rum Bivouac adventure starts when we pick you up with our jeep. Hold on tight in the back of the jeep, where you have the best view of the martian red desert landscape. The further we drive into the desert, the fewer people we see. After a drive of about 20 minutes we reach the white desert, a remote area close to the border of Saudi Arabia. In this quiet, serene area, we prepare the cave while you have time to wander around the white desert. Discover all the small things you wouldn’t usually notice, like the different rock formations, sand textures, the changing colors of the landscape, plants, flowers or even small animals like lizards or beetles. You will be surprised what you will discover if you just take the time.

After the famous Wadi Rum sunset you can sit around the campfire and watch us cook a traditional Bedouin dinner on the fireAfter dinner we sit around the campfire where we relax, drink Bedouin tea, tell stories about the Bedouin life and sometimes even sing and dance. While the fire slowly goes out, you will sleep in the desert under the stars, and wake up with the sunrise and the birds chirping. It’s the best feeling in the world!

Enjoy your breakfast and morning tea while we get ready to head back to the village. For the best experience we advice you to do a jeep tour or mountain hike, before or after the night in the cave.

Desert romance

Looking for a unique romantic getaway? Surprise your partner and ask us for the “desert romance experience”. We will cook a nice private dinner on the fire, entertain you with some stories and then leave you two alone to enjoy a romantic night, surrounded by candles. This is the true Desert Dream. When the fire and candle lights dim, you have the best view of the stars. Perfect for couples or newlyweds on their honeymoon. Your partner will never forget this! (Don’t be scared, we won’t leave you all alone in the middle of nowhere. We will stay close to you in case you need us).
